The day she left,
God stepped back
and let it happen.
Distance obeyed Him.
The world did not hesitate.
My children vanished
into geography.
I asked where His love was
when my life went dark.
He said nothing.
What stayed with me
was not faith,
but the knowledge
that even power
can choose not to care.
